Really great!

I knew it would be a big day for you, with all the implications of that term. Lord have mercy on you and your better half this season!

Thank you for a sweet account of partings avoided and partings bittersweet. I once heard of a man who grieved the morning he walked through the kitchen without Cheerios sticking to his feet.

I hope you won't mind if I share a thought that your juxtaposed accounts inspired:

Have mercy, Lord, on the daughter (or son as well)
Delivered, by force, to black-robed agents of Hell
Who stand not on the west side of the millennial schism
But across the balanced divide of blind secularism,
Who, dividing the image from the Image in which she was created,
Unite, as virtuously, to the bestial image animated,
Who, dividing where David’s son penetratingly feigned
And incensed by the mother indecorously pained
At what such indivisible justice for all has now cost her,
Award both precious halves to the scarlet imposter.
