Check out this Web 2.0 approach to chatbots:

Just as Deep Blue brute-forced it in chess with speed, the idea behind the Chatbot Game is to brute-force it with a huge number of user-submitted Google-like chat rules.

Spot on, as usual. I might dare say humans took the field because God gave the field to us, but we redefined the game so that the field no longer is appropriate to the game. We've abandoned what we were created to play.
The field still exists, the players are the same, the goals are different now. When we aspire to be in the image of our own creations we are most pitiable and deluded.

The question arouses difficult answers. I suggest first of all the overcoming of the six points that were briefly noted in the last paragraph. Real human language is one of the surest signs of the image of God. Prayer is the summit of language, and so prayer must be prayed, fellowship must be restored, beautiful things must be made, and the familiar things cherished and "seen through" to eternity.

Fr Jonathan:
Father, bless. So, where do we go from here? How do we "take the field"? From my limited view in southern Ontario, we must go inward, lessen, and empty ourselves, taking up the cross as Christ bid. I suppose that means giving away more of the property I don't need to people who do need.
