« This year’s prayer | Main | The Summons of the Star »

What a good word. Thank you.

This season has been one where I've had the attitude "I've done all this work other years. Nothing ever comes of it. Let other people do it this year. Or not. I don't care."

I don't even know what it means to "endure heavy labors"; it's hard to endure even the light ones.

"We needed a saint who would help us look away from ourselves, and look instead to Jesus Christ. We needed a saint who would teach us how to work, and how to live, without being critical of others. We needed a saint who would show us how to sacrifice and serve and work hard with gladness and celebration."

Me too.
